Trenton, NJ (October 15, 2009) -GluckWalrath attorney Andrew Bayer has been named Chairman of the New Jersey Supreme Court District VII Ethics Committee, serving Mercer County. Mr. Bayer, a partner and director of the Firm's Litigation and Public Entity/Municipal Law Practice Groups, concentrates his practice in land use and affordable housing litigation. He represents public entities in transactional and litigation matters, and private entities in general commercial litigation matters. Bayer is a resident of East Windsor, New Jersey.

The District VII Ethics Committee, one of eighteen statewide, works under the supervision of the Office of Attorney Ethics as the investigative and prosecutorial arm of the Supreme Court of New Jersey in discharging the court's constitutional responsibility to supervise and discipline New Jersey attorneys. Trenton, NJ (September 30, 2009) -GluckWalrath attorney Cindy M. Perr will serve as the moderator of the Burlington County Bar Association’s seminar entitled “Effectively Navigating Federal Practice in the District of New Jersey.” The seminar is scheduled for November 18, 2009 at the Olde Courthouse, Mount Holly, New Jersey, and will provide an overview of federal practice in New Jersey, including initial conferences, disclosure and discovery, advocacy tips and hot topics in federal practice.  

Ms. Perr, a partner in the Firm’s Litigation, Public Entity/Municipal Law and Health Law Practice Groups, concentrates her practice on general litigation with an emphasis in the areas of commercial, real estate and municipal law. Donnadio has been invited to serve as a moderator for the Somerset County Business Partnership’s October 2, 2009 public policy forum entitled “Making New Jersey more Affordable for Businesses and Residents.” All three gubernatorial candidates have been invited to speak separately at this much anticipated event, which will also host two panel discussions on tax reform. Trenton, NJ (August 31, 2009) --GluckWalrath attorney Jason Medina has been named to the Board of Trustees for the Burlington County Community Action Program (BCCAP). Mr. Medina is an attorney in GluckWalrath’s litigation and public entity practice groups, concentrating on the representation of public entities in transactional and litigation matters, and general commercial litigation matters involving private entities. He also serves as an elected Committeeman in Bordentown Township.

BCCAP is a private, non-profit social service agency established in 1965 to serve the low-income population of Burlington County. It is governed by a 27-member Board of Trustees, including one-third representation from the private sector, one-third from elected public officials, and one-third from the low-income population. Among other services, BCCAP operates various housing programs, a home energy assistance and weatherization program, community programs, head start early childhood development program and child care resource and referral services. Trenton, NJ (May 11, 2009) --Two GluckWalrath attorneys have been invited to present at the New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) Annual Conference in Atlantic City, NJ. The conference will be held at Bally's Park Place Hotel and Casino, June 16-19, 2009. Attorneys Andrew Bayer and Cindy M. Perr will present on Thursday, June 18, 2009, on "2009 COAH Update: Legislative and Litigation Issues." The seminar will provide an update on the implementation of the new COAH regulations, the newly-passed legislation, and the status of pending lawsuits. Topics will include:

The aftermath of the new third round regulations;
How municipalities are meeting their third round obligations (ie., age-restricted communities, family housing, group homes, municipal projects, extensions of expiring restraints);
The pending litigation and what impact it will have;
A summary of the new legislation and how it affects the ability to meet the third round obligations; and,
The impact of all of these issues on municipal and county governments.

Trenton, NJ (April 30, 2009) --Attorney Cindy M. Perr of GluckWalrath LLP has been named one of New Jersey’s “50 Best Women in Business” for 2009 by NJBIZ Magazine. Recognized for her "commitment to business growth, professional excellence and to the community," Perr was among those honored at a dinner and reception on March 30, 2009, at The Palace at Somerset Park, in Somerset, New Jersey. Ms. Perr and other honorees are highlighted in an upcoming special supplement to NJBIZ Magazine, available on Best 50 Women in Business 2009.

Perr, a partner in GluckWalrath’s Litigation, Public Entity/Municipal Law and Health Law Practice Groups, concentrates her practice on general litigation with an emphasis in the areas of commercial, real estate and municipal law. Her experience also includes transactional and litigation matters involving health law.

Ms. Perr was the co-founding partner of the Firm's WON initiative ("Women Opportunity Networking"), which brings together women from throughout the state, working in the private and public sectors, to network, socialize and professionally enrich themselves at the Firm's Trenton office. She was also recognized as a "Rising Star" in the practice area of Business Litigation for 2008 and 2009 in a special edition of New Jersey Monthly Magazine.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Perr is an active member of her community. She is currently serving as the 2009 March of Dimes “March for Babies” for Southern New Jersey, after having raised over $20,000 for the 2008 March. She is a Chancellor Emeritus of the Rutgers-Camden School of Law Alumni Association. Perr currently serves as the gubernatorial appointee to the Burlington County College Board of Trustees, and also serves on the College’s Foundation Board of Trustees. She is also an active member of the Burlington County Bar Association Board of Trustees.

Perr resides in Medford, New Jersey, with her husband Richard and two children.

Trenton, NJ (April 28, 2009) --GluckWalrath welcomes attorney Jason Medina to its Trenton office as a senior associate. Mr. Medina’s practice includes the representation of public entities in transactional and litigation matters, and general commercial litigation matters involving private entities. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Medina was a senior associate with a law firm in Pennington, New Jersey representing public school districts in complex litigation matters, contract negotiations, labor grievances, and due process hearings. He also previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, New York, where he investigated and prosecuted felony, misdemeanor and juvenile cases. While a law student, he had internships with the Honorable Ronald L. Ellis of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor, a civil litigation firm, and a non-profit legal advocacy group in Boston, Massachusetts.

Mr. Medina is a Committeeman in Bordentown Township, elected in November 2008 to a three year term. He serves as Township Liaison to the Police Department, Fire Districts, Emergency Management Services and Animal Control. He is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association, New Jersey School Board Association and the New Jersey State League of Municipalities 2010 Census Awareness Committee.

Mr. Medina received his B.A. degree in Political Science (with honors) from New Jersey City University in 1997 and his juris doctor degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 2002. He is admitted to the bars of the State of New Jersey and New York.

Trenton, NJ (April 8, 2009) --GluckWalrath attorney Andrew Aronson recently participated in a strategy meeting with representatives of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, including Deputy Commissioner Matthew D’Oria, to discuss policy and compliance issues regarding the provision of adult day health services. Mr. Aronson, a partner and director of the Firm's Health Care Practice Group, concentrates his practice in long term care and regulatory compliance matters and represents various providers in the health care industry, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals and adult day health service facilities. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Aronson served as the NJDHSS Director of Long Term Care Licensing and Certification.

Trenton, NJ (March 24, 2009) -- GluckWalrath attorney Cindy M. Perr has been recognized as a “2009 Super Lawyers Rising Star” in a special edition of Super Lawyers and New Jersey Monthly magazines. A member of GluckWalrath's litigation and health law practice groups, Ms. Perr was recognized for a second year as a "Rising Star" in the practice area of "Business Litigation." She is member of GluckWalrath's Litigation, Public Entity/Municipal Law and Health Care practice groups.

To assemble rankings, the publishers of Law & Politics survey lawyers for nominations of the best attorneys age 40 and younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less, based on personal observations. A Law & Politics research team then reviews potential candidates’ credentials and assigns points based on specific criteria. Point totals from the survey and research process are combined for a final tally. No more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state are named to the list.

Trenton, NJ (March 5, 2009) -- GluckWalrath welcomes attorney Antonella Colella to its Trenton office as an associate. Ms. Colella’s practice includes the representation of public entities in transactional and litigation matters, and general commercial litigation matters involving private entities.  While a law student, Ms. Colella had internships with the general counsel’s office of a Big 4 accounting firm and a boutique tax and estate planning law firm. Ms. Colella has also volunteered her time at Nationalities Service Center in Philadelphia, where she helped immigrant victims of domestic violence obtain legal permanent resident status.

Ms. Colella received her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance (with honors) from American University in 2004 and her Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers-Camden School of Law in 2008. She is admitted to the bars of the State of New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Trenton, NJ (February 27, 2009) -- GluckWalrath attorney Christopher M. Walrath has been recognized as a “2009 Super Lawyer” in the January/February 2009 edition of “Super Lawyers – Corporate Counsel Edition” magazine, on newsstands today. The managing director of GluckWalrath's Corporate Law and Public Finance practice groups, Mr. Walrath was recognized for a third year as a "Super Lawyer" in the practice area of "Bonds/Government Finance."

Mr. Walrath represents municipalities, counties, state agencies or authorities in connection with their issuance of bonds to finance a myriad of projects. He also serves as corporate counsel to closely held corporations handling various legal matters in connection with such representation, with a particular expertise representing developers (both for-profit and non-profit), equity investors and financing agencies, relating to all aspects of the acquisition, development and/or financing of affordable housing projects. Mr. Walrath also represents municipalities and private entities relating to redevelopment projects. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and has presented seminars on various bond-related topics.

The seminar will address COAH's Third Round regulations, which dramatically increase the statewide requirements for affordable housing, and how municipalities will face an increased need for available services as a result.
