Howard J. EichenbaumHoward J. Eichenbaum’s area of specialization is Taxation, concentrating in the tax aspects of Public Finance and Employee Benefits. Mr. Eichenbaum has acted as tax counsel on all of the Firm’s bond issues, including the first several composite bond issues of the New Jersey Health Care Facilities Financing Authority, bonds for various solid waste projects of the Essex and Union County Utilities Authorities and the Mercer County Improvement Authority, bonds for a number of private and public colleges and hospitals throughout the State and with respect to the State of New Jersey General Obligation Bonds, Series 1999. He has analyzed numerous projects that have had a “change in use” for tax purposes, requiring private letter rulings from the IRS and some form of tax remediation.

Mr. Eichenbaum has been a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers since 1993, and is a member of both the New Jersey Bar and the Pennsylvania Bar.

Mr. Eichenbaum received his BA and MBA from the University of Pittsburgh in 1974 and 1976, respectively, and received his law degree from Cleveland State University Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1979 and his LL.M in Taxation from Georgetown University School of Law in 1981. Following law school, he served as a Law Clerk to the Hon. Edna G. Parker of the U.S. Tax Court.
