Brett E. Halpern practices in the areas of
Municipal Law and
Litigation, with
particular emphasis on the representation of public
entities in both transaction and litigation matters.
Mr. Halpern’s practice includes the representation
of public entities in transactional and litigation
matters involving the defense of tort claims and
civil rights claims brought against public entities.
Further, Mr. Halpern devotes a portion of his
practice to the representation of health care
facilities in both general commercial litigation
matters, as well as to ensure they stand in
compliance with all applicable Federal, State and
local guidelines.
Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Halpern had the
distinct privilege in serving as a law clerk to the
Honorable John E. Wallace Jr., Associate Justice of
the New Jersey Supreme Court (Ret).
Prior to joining GluckWalrath, Mr. Halpern was an
associate at Gibbons P.C. in Newark, New Jersey
assigned to their Employment and Business &
Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. While a law
student, Mr. Halpern served as a law clerk at the
law firm of Brown & Connery in Westmont, New Jersey,
concentrating his efforts on the representation of
public entities in various areas of the law.
Mr. Halpern received his Bachelor of Arts (political
science) degree from the Rutgers University – Camden
College of Arts and Sciences, graduating with
highest honors. While completing his undergraduate
studies, Mr. Halpern received the Marvin J. Weiner
Memorial Scholarship Award for excellence in
academic achievement within the political science
department. Mr. Halpern earned his Juris Doctorate
from the Rutgers University – Camden School of Law.
Mr. Halpern is admitted to practice in the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New
Jersey. Additionally, Mr. Halpern is a member of the
bar for the United States District Court – District
of New Jersey.
